We at the Lifeline join the nation in mourning the tragedy at Virginia Tech. Although we work every day to prevent the loss of life through suicide, we take this time to reflect and remember the lives of those who died and to provide services and support to those that survived.
Our thanks go out to the crisis centers in Virginia, and to those across the country who are serving VT students as they return home for the summer. Understanding that crisis centers play a unique role in responding to disasters and tragedies such as this, we want to ensure that our centers have the resources they might need. We also want to ensure that students, parents, staff and professors, and Virginia community members have access to resources and to our toll-free, 24/7, confidential hotline 1-800-273-TALK. You can call to get help or referrals for yourself or someone you know.
