In 2005, the
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline announced the appointment of our new steering committee and subcommittees. The experience and passion that these individuals bring will be invaluable in supporting our mission of reducing the national incidence of suicide.
The mission of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Steering Committee is to provide recommendations and advice that support the Lifeline's overall mission and to enhance its capacity to reach and serve persons throughout the United States who potentially could be suicidal. Steering Committee Meetings
On June 1 and 2, 2006, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (Lifeline) Steering Committee convened in Arlington, VA to discuss updates on the issues affecting the administration of the Lifeline network. Kick-Off Meeting of the Steering and Subcommittees
On March 24, 2005, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the Mental Health Association of New York City hosted a kick-off meeting of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Steering and Subcommittees. The purpose was to assemble the newly established committees to begin a dialog toward reaching the ultimate goal of reducing the incidence of suicide in this country.
